Whether you’re writing a character bio, your character/your character’s significant other gets caught doing the vertical limbo with someone else, or it’s simply just time to part ways, here’s some songs to help you get into the right mind state. Some of these songs might not necessarily be about cheating or breaking up, but will help you get into that attitude. I’ve tried to add a little big of every genre in here, but you shouldn’t pass a song up just because it’s not your normal taste of music, you just might be surprised how well it gives you that push to write.  I’m not saying these are the best, but they have inspired me in the past - so give it a shot.

Depending on the relationship with the other character, you could try going for harder, meaner songs, versus soft, apologetic songs. It all matters on the type of problems that have created a complicated relationship between these two people:

1. Thunder Rolls + Garth Brooks (*Note: This song is almost impossible to find on Youtube without it being a cover so you’ll have to accept the fact it’s a fan vid in order to hear the song. This song does have an extra verse that is for some reason even rarer to find, but includes the woman grabbing a gun and shooting him)
